LEJOG - Day 10: Hurst Green to Dent
Miles so far: 511
A short mile day at only 40 miles but extremely tough with a lot of steep hills that had to be walked. You should see our calf muscles now!
At the end of the ride, when we had arrived at our hotel, Elaine, who is here with her friend, summed up the day perfectly... "If Jan ever asks me to go anywhere with her again, I'll tell her to bugger off."
Dent is a "quiet" little village with cobblestone streets...
Cars, trucks and tractors rumbling through makes quite a racket though. Jeff thought we were near a military base and planes were taki g off. I thought it sounded more like tanks. Nope... Just cobblestones.
